When comedy intentionally meets horror, camp is inevitable. This movie catches elements of both genres in a way that makes it feel nostalgic but not corny or like it’s trying too hard.
So disappointing. The trailer and teasers for this one really got me excited and, while it wasn’t a terrible movie, it also wasn’t anything like I thought it would be in terms of the actual horror element.
The thing about live action remakes is that they are supposed to be tapping into nostalgia for those who have seen/read the original. The key piece to that puzzle is staying consistent with the lore that has been established in an engaging way.
Executive produced by The-Dream and Nile Rodgers, this is a great example of a movie that could’ve been better received as a limited series. It’s not that it’s bad…
